DatumSpot needs nothing from you to work: no accounts, no sign-in. The calculators and references run in your browser, so what you type stays on your device — unless you deliberately send it by sharing a link, calling the API, or emailing us. Each of those is explained below.
- Tools run in your browser. Every calculator — and the image/PDF tracer — computes locally on your device. Your inputs, and any file you trace, are not uploaded to us.
- Your saved items stay in your browser. The Saved board is stored only in your browser's local storage. It is never uploaded — there is no server that could receive or store it, and we cannot see it. Clearing your browser data removes it.
- Shared links carry your inputs. The "Copy link" button encodes your current inputs into the URL so the result reopens for whoever you send it to. Anyone with that link — and the request that loads it — can see those values, so don't put anything sensitive into a link you intend to share.
- The API sends your inputs to be computed. If you use the HTTP API, the inputs in your request are sent to our edge to run the calculation and return the result; it uses no account and keeps no history of your calls. (The on-site tools don't do this — they run entirely in your browser.)
- Email. If you contact us, your message and email address arrive in our inbox (handled by Cloudflare Email Routing) so we can reply. That is the only personal information we hold, and only because you chose to send it — ask us and we'll delete the correspondence.
- No tracking. No advertising networks, no cross-site trackers, no fingerprinting, and no cookies used to identify you.
- Analytics. We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to count page views in aggregate so we know which tools are useful. It is privacy-first: cookieless, collects no personal data, and does not track you across other sites.
- Outbound links. "Further learning" links, cited sources, and links you save point to third-party sites. Once you leave, those sites' own privacy policies apply.
We run no accounts and keep no user profiles, so — apart from any email you choose to send us — there is nothing on our side to export or delete, and clearing your own browser storage removes your Saved board entirely.

- Verify code and standard numbers. Values drawn from codes and standards (e.g. the 2010 ADA Standards, the IRC, ASCE 7) are cited to their sources, but you must confirm them against your Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ) and the adopted code edition. State codes, local amendments, and rules for alterations to existing buildings differ.
- Rules of thumb are preliminary only. Tools such as the beam-span depth guide are for rough, early sizing. They are not span tables and not structural design, and they do not replace analysis by a qualified professional.
- Have critical work reviewed. Always check important numbers against the primary source and have work stamped or reviewed by a licensed professional where the law requires it.
- Provided "as is". The site is offered without warranty of any kind. You use it at your own risk; we are not liable for decisions made from its output.
